Report on Tree Plantation Drive – “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” Organised by: Environment Club, Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, BHEL, Bhopal in celebration of World Environment Day, the Environment Club of Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, BHEL, Bhopal, enthusiastically participated in the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0,” initiated by CBSE. The campaign was launched to promote environmental consciousness and encourage students to honour their mothers by planting a tree in her name. As part of this, 75 saplings were planted by students at the school campus, nearby public spaces, and their own homes. The plantation drive was scheduled in August 2025, aligning with the monsoon season to ensure proper growth of the plants. The following saplings were brought for distribution under the campaign: Amla, Bel, Lakshmi Taru, Sheesam, Sitaphal, Amaltas, Neem, and Khumbhi. This plantation activity not only aimed at increasing green cover, but also created awareness about the role of trees in combating climate change, reducing pollution, and supporting biodiversity. Students shared insights on their planting experience and committed to nurturing their saplings long-term. The collective effort reflected the students’ deep-rooted sense of responsibility towards nature and their willingness to be active contributors to a greener, more sustainable future.
