Carmel Convent Sr Sec School BHEL; Bhopal, Primary Wing celebrated the universal language of movement- Dance on the occasion International Dance Day which falls on 29^th April. It is celebrated in honour of ballet master Jean Georges Noverre. The day celebrates the value and importance of dance and encourages participation and education in this art form through events and festivals. This day is also celebrated to promote the multiple benefits of dancing, to recognize dance as a stress reliever, expressing oneself, a way of celebrating happiness and an activity that brings people together. With the aim of commemorating the day and honouring the dancing skills of students an exciting dance competition was organized for the students of classes I to V on 14^th and 19^th of April . The participants, dressed in colourful costumes, set the stage on fire with their enthralling and energetic performance. The competition was a runaway hit. It increased the self confidence and self-esteem in the children. Children performed on different genres of dance like classical, semi classical, contemporary, folkand devotional dance to name a few. More than 350 participants performed. The students left everyone mesmerized as they performed so perfectly and effortlessly. The judges made a note on the expressions, choice of song, costume, rhythm, and movements. Everyone applauded the efforts put in by the young dancers.
