the biggest source of revenue for the government. Government uses this money
for various developmental works such as the Chandrayaan Mission, the National
Health Mission, i.e. Covid Vaccination, construction of roads and highways,
hospitals, old age homes, etc. The funds are also used for disaster management,
maintaining law and order by the Judiciary and the Police Department, Defence
forces, science and technology, rural development, etc.
The highest regulatory body of
Income Tax in India is the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The total
population of India is 138 crore, out of which approximately 8.22 crore pay
taxes. The latest reports reveal that the money contributed by the citizens of
India in the FY 2021-22 in the form of direct taxes is Rs. 16,34,454 Crores.
Income Tax Department functions mainly on the basis of Chanakya's principle -
"Kosh Mulo Dand" (Finance is the backbone of the State)
So it can be concluded that India's tax paying population needs to escalate and the citizens of our country must realise their responsibility towards nation building. With a fruitful and interactive doubt clearing session, this insightful event came to an end.Mrs Madhumita the PRO coordinated the entire session and representing the school, Miss Pakhi Dave , XII D expressed the words of gratitude.
